Cancellation & Refunds Policy for BillSift

This Cancellation & Refunds Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions for the cancellation of your subscription and any applicable refunds for the Services provided by Finkalp Technologies Private Limited ("we," "us," "our", "Billsift"). This Policy is an integral part of our Terms and Conditions.
By subscribing to our paid Services, you agree to the terms outlined in this Policy.
1. Subscription and Billing Cycle
- BillSift Services are offered on a subscription basis, with billing cycles that are either monthly or annual, as selected by you during the sign-up process.
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it as described below.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1. Free Tier
You may stop using our Free tier Services and delete your account at any time without any charge or formal cancellation process, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
2.2. Paid Subscriptions (Pro & Business Tiers)
You have the freedom to cancel your paid subscription at any time. The process and consequences of cancellation are as follows:
How to Cancel:
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings within the BillSift application. Alternatively, you can request cancellation by contacting our support team at billing@billsift.com.
What Happens When You Cancel:
- Immediate Effect: Your subscription will be downgraded to the Free tier at the end of the current billing period you have already paid for.
- Service Access: You will retain access to all paid features until the last day of your pre-paid billing cycle. On the renewal date, your account will automatically revert to the Free tier, and any features or data limits associated with the Free tier will apply.
- No Partial Refunds: Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the unused portion of the current billing period. Your service will simply not renew.
3. Refund Policy
3.1. General Refund Principle
All subscription fees paid to BillSift are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or as explicitly stated in this Policy.
This "no-refund" policy is in place because our service provides immediate value and access to digital tools, including OCR processing and data storage, from the moment you subscribe.
3.2. Exceptions
Refunds may be considered only under the following exceptional circumstances:
- Technical Failure: If a significant, sustained, and unresolvable technical issue on our part prevents you from using the core Services for a prolonged period, and our support team is unable to resolve it, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the affected period.
- Billing Errors: In the case of a demonstrable billing error (e.g., being double-charged), we will issue a full refund for the erroneous charge.
3.3. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund under the exceptions listed in Section 3.2, you must submit a detailed request to billing@billsift.com within 14 days of the charge in question. Your request must include:
- Your Account Email
- Date of the Charge
- Reason for the Refund Request, with any relevant evidence (e.g., screenshots of error messages).
We will review all requests on a case-by-case basis and make a determination at our sole discretion. We are under no obligation to issue a refund unless required by Indian law.
4. Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any current or future use of the Services for any reason at any time, as detailed in our Terms and Conditions. In the event of a termination by us that is not a result of your violation of our Terms, we may, at our discretion, issue a prorated refund for the unused portion of your subscription.
5. Data Upon Cancellation
After your subscription ends and your account reverts to the Free tier or is deleted, our data retention practices as described in our Privacy Policy will apply. You are responsible for exporting your data (in JSON or Excel format) before your account is downgraded or deleted.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cancellation & Refunds Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Changes will become effective upon posting.
